According to the statement, long-term residents of the UK and citizens who wish to sponsor their family members must have an annual income of at least £29,000. The country's government announced in a statement that the new income conditions are 55 percent higher than before. The statement also informed that this amount will be increased to 38 thousand 70 pounds from next year i.e. 2025. Which is equal to about 53 lakh 16 thousand 700 taka in Bangladeshi currency.
The statement also said Home Secretary James Cleverley had promised to bring about changes to the UK's immigration system. This step has been taken as part of this. Earlier in 2023, the British government imposed restrictions on student visas.
